This is a great home and you will love it. Beautiful and relaxing tropical styled vacation home just 2.5 miles from the airport. Located on the gentle slopes of Mt. Hualalai at the perfect elevation of about 800 feet. Gorgeous Pacific shoreline and sunset views! Minutes to town, but away from the traffic, crowds, and the HEAT of downtown at sea level! Our guests rave about this being the perfect location! We have had many say that they felt calmed and relaxed as soon as they entered,

Located in an Upscale neighborhood and on a quiet street, beautiful gardens, and covered carport (porte-cochère) entry (Keeps your cars shaded and cool). Just over an acre of gardens and mature tropical foliage. This home has an open living area layout with vaulted ceilings in the Great Room, Kitchen, and Dining Room, as well as in the Master and 1 of the other bedrooms. The Master Suite has dbl sink, shower tub, small private lanai, and walk out to main lanai and hot tub. This home comfortably sleeps up to 9, with 3 King, 1 Full, plus twin daybed.
Great for relaxing after the activities. The huge west facing (Sunsets!) covered lanai features the large 6 person hot tub, an additional seating and dining area, and a small tiki bar as well. The lanai faces the large pool/sun deck with a 35 X 18ft pool, plenty of sun furniture and BBQ area. The Home, Lanai, and Pool are all on the same level. This is NOT a "bare bones" rental, it is well equipped, well decorated and well furnished. Home is owner occupied for several months a year, so it has many extras. It will feel like our own place! Kitchen is large and VERY well equipped and has an additional bar/counter that seats 4, inside and outside dining areas each seat 6. Many extras provided with this home, beach equipment, assorted high quality snorkel gear, and boogie boards too! Also a nice assortment of family or childrens games. You will love it here as much as we do! Everything in this condo, from the art work, to the furniture, lamps and dishes, has been chosen to embrace the Maui feeling. The building won the Kahili Award - Keep it Hawaiian - and we strive to meet this high standard. We have completely remodeled everything... kitchen, bathroom, carpet, paint, light fixtures, front door, lanai carpet, you name it, to make it as comfortable as possible. This is a small 42 unit, three story building named The Kulakane. Our condo is on the second floor, unit 210. Kulakane #210

The pool is right by the ocean, sometimes you get splashed by waves when you're in the pool! Our condo is less that 50 feet from the ocean. The pictures of the outdoors are taken from the lanai, but they don't quite show how spectacular it is to be right on the water.

And the living space opens up to a pleasant backyard patio and lawn; augmented by the melody of children playing, birds singing and a Tongan choir at the adjoining historic church (a popular place for weddings).
From the front stoop, the gorgeous West Maui Mountains reign supreme and beyond the back gate is Pakala, the beach chosen by the ancient Hawaiian ali’i (chiefs) as their playground! This is a sacred area once known as Moku’ula, the spiritual and political power center of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Lahaina not only served as a favorite vacation spot for Hawaiian royalty and as a part-time residence for the royal family, it was officially declared the capital of Hawaii in 1802.
Across the street basketball and tennis courts, a field and parking lot cover the filled-in historic pond and island that was Moku’ula. The adjacent Kamehameha Iki makai (ocean) park is home to the reconstruction of traditional Hawaiian outrigger canoes and host to the annual Festival of Canoes in late spring. The site of an ancient heiau is preserved here. The beautiful beach with shallow reef-protected waters is a nesting ground for turtles and was once a heavenly snorkeling site (while much of the coral has died off, there is still some good snorkeling) which today makes an idyllic spot for launching a rubber raft and drifting in the bathtub warm water for hours. There is excellent surf at both ends of the beach with the northern spot popular with beginners and surf schools. Lahaina Harbor (with ferries to Lana’i and Molokai) is very close. Dining, bars, coffee shops, shopping and spas are all right here.

The "Triangle" is a contemporary 1200 square feet home, just 200 meters from the ocean and a two minutes drive to Kehena black sand beach. We are just as close to "Kalani Oceanside Retreat", where you can dine, dance or get great massages. The house is literally a three sided building, with walls of windows, six large ceiling fans, stained glass windows, free WiFi and phone, all set in a beautiful ever blooming garden. It has two floors, with an open floor plan, the bathroom is done in imported Balinese river rock and glass brick, finished with Italian mosaic tiles. The upper floor has one queen size bed, one double bed, two single fold out futons, as well as a spacious sitting area with TV that can be used in conjunction with VCR/DVD. The first floor has a fully equipped kitchenette, with extra refrigerator, dining area, a queen size bed and a large couch that will convert to an additional queen size bed if needed. The Triangle can sleep up to eight. Rents for $125 a night up to four people. Extra person $10 per night.
We are located just off the beautiful "Red Road", not too far from great snorkeling, surfing and bathing or swimming in a magnificent huge natural hot spring that pretty consistently holds a temperature ranging from 92 to 100 degrees. It's only a 15 minutes drive to witness the lava flowing into the sea and 20 minutes to the old Hawaiian town of Pahoa with its wooden side walks, many restaurants, shops and banks. I don't think you can find a larger, nicer or cleaner vacation spot in this price range!!
We have a 900 square foot ohana that is the whole middle level of our three level home in Kailua-Kona, the Big Island Of Hawaii. The lanai is all across the back of the ohana and there are ocean views from the lanai and inside. The whole ocean side is huge sliders, very open and airy!!
We are almost a 1000 feet up the slope of Hualalai , much cooler than on the water and makes for good sleeping. There is a very comfortable King size bed in the bedroom along with a sitting area with two chairs and cable TV.
In the living room there are two twin beds along with a TV and many books about Hawaii and other reading material.
The bathroom is very large with double sinks, big Jacuzzi tub (enough for two) and a separate shower. All linens are here, including beach towels. There are boogie boards, noodles, beach chairs and sand toys if there are little ones.
In the kitchenette there is a small refrigerator, microwave, electric skillet, toaster oven, blender and coffee maker. Small gas bar-b-que on lanai. We start you off with a bag of coffee and paper goods.
Our location is very good, by car just 10 minutes from the airport and in 5 minutes you are by the water on Alii Drive in the middle of shops and restaurants.
You have access to a washer and dryer and if you bring your laptop , wireless is here.
Times are tight and our prices are so reasonable!! It is still affordable to vacation on the Big Island .

Aloha.
Yes this is a very special home. Our home was built by my son and I. We spent about four years every summer, living in the jungle and building our home one step at a time. Finally in Sept 07, we passed our final inspection. However, Hawaiian state law requres owner builders to wait one year before renting or selling their homes.
So, just this past January we began renting our home as a vacation rental.
Located on the very south east point of the Big Island, about 40 minutes south of Hilo.
Home to the Kapoho tidepools, otherwise known as the Wai opea Marine wildlife national marine sanctuary.
This vast tidepool area, located right in the ocean is magnificent. Large vast tidepools, shallow and deep, all loaded with tropical fish and wonderful marine corals, awaits all of our guests.
The area of the Kapoho tidepools is also called "Vacationland". Now, don't let the name fool you, because, vacationland is not a crowded tourist spot on the island. In Fact, unlike areas of hawaii like oahu, kona, maui, kuai, Vacationland has no hotels, motels, traffic, or crowds. So there's one reason why we're not well known, epecially through the travel agency world.
But, what we do have is the most beautiful lush tropical region, home to orchid growers, papaya farmers and of course, the kapoho tidepools.
Our home is awesome. First let me say if you'd like to see my photo album, please just email me and I'll send it right on over. Next, if you'd like to see the kapoho area itself, our neighbor has put together a great website. I can't give it out here on craigs list, but if you call me, at 661-944-5044, which is my home, not an office, I'll get on the computer with you and take you to the website. You'll be amazed.
Now, about our home. It looks like, from the pics below, a two story mansion. but downstairs is just storage space. the entire structure is over 4000 sq ft, but our home upstairs is 2350 sq ft.
We offer, huge open vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans in all rooms, tile floors, fully furnished, full open kitchen with all amenities, nice complete laundry room, cable tv, dvd, surround sound in our towering cupala over the living room area. Again, the photo album shows the cupala very well.
We love the outside wrap around upstairs walkway, covered by the hip roof design. It is completely childproof, and all walkways lead to our ocean view lanai and star view terrace. Theirs a weber bbq, custom handicap stairway to house, beautiful two car garage, with garage door opener. I'll explain the garage beauty later.
\ We're about 500 feet to the ocean and a four minute walk to the Kapoho tidepools. The website I told you about, clearly shows our home from the air, and the relation to the ocean and tidepools.
Yes, the rate is 100 dollars per night. A rate no other vacation rental of our size and beauty can compete with.
What else? Well, the master bedroom has a private bathroom with a nice large jacuzzi bathtub.
We are on city pure hawaiian water. Not Catchment. A very important attribute.
And most important are the easterly tradewinds. Because of our location in the community, we have no neighbors on either side of us, or behind us. So we get an unobstructed easterly trade. also because we sit 13 feet above the ground.
Kapoho area is home to orchid farm growers, papaya farmers, and just a remote tropical paradise.
Are you the adventurous type? If so, close by the house are the champaign ponds of beachlots, the warm ponds of ahalanui, kehena black sands beach, kalapana black sands beach, the area where the lave flows down to the ocean creating an amazing volcanic explosion at nigh, andhuge steam clouds during the day. As seen in my photo album. Located about a 30 minute drive from the house.
The south coastal road, called the "Red Road of Puna" is a lush drive. Right on the ocean, with umbrella tree rain forests, wild flowers, and the sweet smells of hawaii. you can even stop at the Kalani Health spa, just 20 minutes away for a great Hawaiian message, or visit kehena black sand beach and view the dolphin pods.
We are one hour from volcano national park, about the same to Muana Kea observatory near Hilo. And of course the Hamakua coastline.
Whether you book our home in kapoho, or someone elses, I'm alway here, always ready to help you with your Hawaiian vacation.

Our Ohana is a cozy, 600 sqft. two bedroom one bath semi-attached guest cottage conveniently located just about a block away from Kama'ole Point and the Pacific Ocean. Kama'ole Point is a lava rock spit that divides Kama'ole Beach Parks II and III. The Point is well known for its tide pools and snorkeling. The west end of our property fronts an undeveloped parcel of land that extends all the way to The Point, so there is not a single man-made structure between us and the Pacific Ocean !
The Kama'ole beaches and the South Kihei strip are within an easy 5-10 minute walk from here. In fact, since we are directly behind the famous South Kihei condo row, it is impossible to get any closer to a South Kihei resort without actually staying in one. If you looking for a more affordable place to stay in Maui, but don't want to compromise on the quality, I am sharing my quiet, large 950 sq foot, 2 bedroom condo with all new furniture. Located in North Kihei across from the ocean. Only 15 minute drive from Kahului Airport(OGG), and minutes to the top 3 rated beaches in the United States! I occupy the other room but don't spend much time there.
The rate is only $65 a night (max 2 guests). Or, ONLY $85/NIGHT FOR ROOM AND CAR! There is a minimum stay of 5 nights.
This price includes all taxes and cleaning fees!
The rental car is a newer Ford Focus which has plenty of room and it is supplied with 2 beach chairs and a cooler. My rate includes pick-up from the airport, and drop off services when you depart. You must have an insurance policy that covers a rental car and be at least 25 years old.
Your bedroom has a California King size bed with new linens (600tc), A new 32” flat screen cable TV with DVD. The bathroom is attached to your bedroom and includes a tub/shower combination and plenty of towels. Also, a large closet for all your things, plus it is equipped with beach towels, beach umbrella and 2 sets of very nice snorkel gear.
In the spacious, air conditioned living room, I offer a flat screen TV, free WIFI, a new, comfortable couch, and an extra large chair with ottoman.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all major appliances. Dishwasher, microwave, full fridge/freezer, coffee maker, tea pot…Plenty of room for all your groceries.
Just 10 steps outside my lanai door is a large pool with lounge chairs for tanning.

Nice 1/1 condo with ocean & sunset views. Walking distance to snorkeling with turtles at gorgeous Napili and Kapalua Bay. Close to bus stop. Laundry room, cable TV, pool, and gas grill in complex. King size tempurpedic bed, 2nd floor lanai. Nice summer weather here 7 degrees cooler than Lahaina with constant breezes. No pets or kids please. Condo is 10 minutes north of Lahaina in Napili.

Don't Do It! This place would be better suited as a fraternity house. We stayed in the "two" bedroom/one bath. The "master" bedroom had no windows; the guy showing us around called it the "cave room". The walls and doors were beyond dirty; hand prints, smudges, and general grime. The bathroom light fixture was a bare bulb with a rotating switch on the cord. There were no towel racks in the bath. "Hang your towels anywhere you want," was the owner's response to my question of where we were supposed to hang our towels. There were four "mix and match" large towels, but no hand or face towels. There were no trash receptacles in either the kitchen or the bath (ever use a kitchen or bath without a trash can?). Nor was there a broom or a dust pan. One drinking glass. There is a coffee maker, but it's apparently for show, since there were no coffee cups. There is a two-burner hot plate, but only one pot (one pint capacity) that must have been from the free box at the Goodwill store. It once had a teflon coating, but it was chewed up too much for us to be comfortable using. Speaking of chewed up, the TV remote had several buttons gnawed off, so you needed something sharp to use them. Ants, cockroaches, cobwebs, etc. brought a "we're in the country; what do you expect?" from the owner. There's more (crumbling, water stained ceiling, missing or burnt out light bulbs, etc.) but you should have the general idea. There's also a studio and a three bedroom at this place; my comments don't apply to those, since I didn't spend any time in them. However, the attitude that the owner showed us would indicate that those accommodations won't be much better.

The Shores of Maui is located across the street from one of the best beaches on Maui. The island's 112 miles of coastline allows for more than 130 beaches, making for one of the most scenic drives in the world. Swim at your own risk, and try not to cause any accidents while driving around the island.
Assuming you're in Waikiki, you'll find a 2-mile string of a dozen beaches just outside your doorstep. They stretch from the Ala Wai Yacht Basin to Diamond Head and are known as Kuhio, Sans Souci, Gray's and Kahanamoku. Ala Moana Beach Park, just west of Waikiki, is a favorite of local residents.
Another popular South Shore beach is Hanauma Bay Nature Park on Kalaniana'ole Highway just past Hawaii Kai in East Honolulu. Hanauma Bay is great for snorkeling and sunbathing, but expect it to be crowded. Back on the highway headed east, you'll travel along a rugged swell-splashed coastline interrupted first by Sandy Beach and then by Makapu'u. Both beaches are beautiful, but sometimes treacherous. (Lifeguards make more rescues at these two beaches than anywhere else in Hawaii.)
Continue on down the highway to Waimanalo Town, where you'll find Waimanalo Bay Recreational Center and Beach Park, a 4-mile stretch of generally safe always beautiful white sand beach. Kailua Bay, a favorite windsurfing and sailing location, offers three miles of sand, small shorebreaks for the beginning bodysurfer, windsurfing lessons and relatively deserted stretches of beach.
Along the coast to the North Shore are several beach parks of note-Kualoa, Kahana, Hau'ula and Mala'ekahana, all beautiful and uncrowded except on weekends. Next come Oahu's major surf spots. Known as the 7 Mile Miracle stretch from Sunset Beach to Haleiwa, beaches include Rocky Point, Ehukai Beach Park, Banzai Pipeline, Pupukea and Waimea Bay.
During winter months, waves may reach heights of up to 25 feet making these beaches definitely off limits to casual swimmers. But then, you can always watch the big wave riders.
Water safety tips worth remembering: consult lifeguards about ocean conditions before entering the water; heed all warning signs; never swim alone; never go out farther than you can swim; if you see someone in distress call for a lifeguard or dial 911; know your limits — if in doubt, don't go out; and never take what you can't carry (leave your valuables at home.)
Skin precautions are also recommended. Adjust to the sun gradually and use a broad-spectrum sunblock cream or lotion with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15, maybe 21 or higher. (Many Oahu lifeguards use 30+ SPF.)
Your journey begins as you head to the windward side of the Island over the Ko’olau Mountains. Located at the base of a stunning 2,000-foot lush green cliff lies the fabled Valley of the Temples and picturesque Byodo Temple. Traveling North to Kahana Bay, your guide will happily point out native plants and seabird species at Laie Point before arriving at Kahuku where you’ll visit several shrimp farms for a glimpse of some endangered wetland birds.
Further North you’ll arrive at the famous North Shore beaches, Sunset Beach and Banzai Pipeline offer incredible waves that thrill viewers and professional surfers during the winter months, November-April. Photo opportunities await at Hale O Lono Heiau, one of Oahu's best preserved temples. Situated inside the lush Waimea Valley, this unique archaeological site is an excellent site to learn about Hawaiian native religion.
Finishing your journey are stops at Turtle Beach, colorful historic Haleiwa Town and Dole Plantation.
